Businesses urged to shop around to find green tariffs Businesses have been urged by an environmental charity to talk to as many energy suppliers as they can in order to find the most suitable green energy tariff for them.Global Action's communications manager, Amy Sims, stated that by telling business electricity suppliers exactly what they want from a deal, companies should be able to negotiate an individual contract with a provider. In a column for BusinessGreen, the expert also stated that businesses could genuinely contribute to an increase in the UK's renewable capacity by ensuring their energy comes from a provider which sources a high amount of its electricity from renewables. Writing on the website, Ms Sims added: "The onus is on the company buying green energy to make sure it is really getting what it is paying for. "Although, for a more certain way of generating renewable electricity, your business may want to explore installing renewable energy technology and producing its own!" Global Action Plan was established in 1993 to suggest how people can make practical changes to their everyday lives in an effort to become more energy efficient.
